Custom Drapery from Our Greenville Workroom
Beautiful drapery should do more than finish a room. It should work comfortably with your daily routines, give you the privacy and light control you need, and frame the view you love. At Good Measure Shades, we bring those considerations together through in-home consultation, practical installation experience, and our own custom drapery workroom here in Greenville, South Carolina.
Understanding your priorities
Our process begins in your home, where we can understand both the space and what matters to you. We ask questions, measure your windows carefully, and talk through how you want the room to feel and function.
Is privacy the main concern? Do you want to soften daylight or darken a bedroom? Is there a view you want to preserve? We also consider aesthetics, acoustics, longevity, ease of operation, and price. Your priorities guide our recommendations for fabric, lining, hardware, and construction.
That conversation lets us work through the choices together. Drapery you’ll open and close every day needs to be convenient to use, while decorative panels may serve primarily to frame a window. A Ripplefold header might suit your contemporary style, or a two-finger pinch pleat could provide the right look for linen drapes in your living room. The design takes shape around your needs.
Experience and materials
Before our founder, Christian Neal, sold window treatments for a living, he was a professional drapery installer. He has installed hundreds of drapery rods over the years—experience that informs how we approach each project.
Hardware placement, panel proportions, and the space fabric occupies when open all affect the result. We carry a wide range of custom drapery hardware, allowing us to consider appearance, support, and operation together. The rod or track is an integral part of the design, deserving the same attention as the fabric.
Our in-house workroom keeps knowledge of how drapery is designed, made, and installed accessible to our whole team. That shared expertise helps us serve some of the most demanding design projects in the Upstate, where precise execution matters as much as the original vision.
Details that make a difference
Much of our craftsmanship shows up in the way the finished drapery behaves.
We plan the panels and hardware together so that, when the drapery is open, your view is fully revealed. When it’s closed, the fabric falls into place with the intended fullness, without excess material that needs to be fussed with or “dressed” into position.
That balance takes careful measurement and detailed construction. The shape of a pleat, the depth of a hem, the choice of lining, and the finished width each play a part. Our goal is for those details to come together so naturally that you simply enjoy the result.
Our Greenville workroom connects the conversations we have in our clients’ homes with the care that goes into making their drapery. Whether you’re finishing one room or planning several, we’d love to help you find the right balance of beauty, function, and value.
